Privacy

What we collect

• Your email address, so you can sign in and so we can send you a verification link and, if you ask for one, a password reset link.
• Your name, and optionally a username and a short bio, which are what other people see next to your solutions.
• Your password, stored only as a hash. We cannot read it.
• Your GitHub profile — id, name, email and avatar — if you choose to sign in with GitHub. We never ask GitHub for access to your repositories.
• The code you write: every submission you make against a challenge, and the result of running it.
• Your activity: which days you signed in or solved something, counted in UTC, plus XP and streaks derived from that.
• Your Ask AI conversations: the questions you type into the assistant in a challenge workspace, the answers it gives, and a count of how many you have sent this month.
• Your sessions: a session token in a cookie, and the IP address and browser user agent the session was created from, so you can see and revoke sign-ins.

Why we collect it

To run the service, and only that: to authenticate you, to compile and test the code you submit, to show you your own history and progress, and to display public solutions. There is no advertising, no tracking across other sites, and no profiling.

What is public

When you solve a challenge, your solution can be listed publicly on that challenge's page, alongside your name or username and the date. This is a setting on your account, it applies to your solutions, and you can turn it off at any time — your solutions then disappear from the public lists. Other members can vote a public solution up or down; the score is a bare number and we never show who voted. Your email address is never shown to anyone else.

Cookies

One cookie, holding your session, set when you sign in and cleared when you sign out. There are no analytics or advertising cookies.

Who else sees it

The service providers it takes to run the site: our hosting and database provider, an email provider that delivers verification and password-reset messages, and — only when you use Ask AI — the AI service that answers you. Asking a question sends that question, the challenge text and the challenge's visible files to it; nothing else about you goes with it, and it is never called unless you ask it something. They process this data on our behalf. We do not sell it, and we do not share it for advertising.

Deleting your account

You can delete your account from your profile page. Deletion is immediate and permanent: your account, your email address, your linked GitHub account, every session, every submission and the code in it, every solution you published, every vote you cast, every Ask AI conversation, and your whole activity, XP and streak history are removed. Nothing of yours is kept behind, and nothing can be restored afterwards.

The one thing outside our reach is a question you already asked Ask AI: it was handed to the AI service at the moment you sent it, and deleting your account deletes our copy, not theirs.

You can also just ask us — the email below reaches a person — and you can ask for a copy of what we hold about you.
